Sipz.vin is a small, invite-only project run by one person. This page says plainly what it keeps, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.
What is kept
- On your phone: your wines, tasting notes, ratings, tags, photos, producers, flashcards and settings. This is the main copy, and it works offline.
- On the server, as a backup: the same notes and data, so a new phone can restore it, and your photos, resized for storage. Each person's data is kept separately and only that person can read it.
- Your account: the name, email address and profile picture your Google account shares when you sign in, used to check you have been invited.
Who else sees anything
- Google signs you in. Sipz.vin never sees your Google password.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the server and stores the backup.
- Anthropic receives a bottle photo only when you choose "fill in from label", so a label can be read. Nothing else is sent to them.
- OpenStreetMap serves the map tiles, so it can see which map area your phone asks for.
- There are no advertisers, no analytics trackers, and your data is not sold or shared for marketing.
What the server logs
For each request the server records the time, the type of request, the page requested, whether it worked, and your IP address. It does not record what you wrote, your photos, or your sign-in tokens. Logs are deleted after 30 days.
Staying signed in
A sign-in lasts seven days. The server checks the invite list on every request, so if you are removed from the list you are signed out at once. Your data stays on your phone.
Getting your data deleted
Tell the person who invited you, or email nicolasarnold12321@gmail.com. Everything held on the server for your account, including your photos, is then deleted. Your phone keeps its own copy until you delete the app or your profile in it.
